Features
In idle state the widget itself appears as a typical clock widget with the design of the TouchGuide of Siemens OpenStage phones. After clicking the button in the middle of this clock a "taskbar" appears which gives the user access to various communication-related functions.
Call control
Control current phone connection(s). In case of incoming calls to the user's phone these calls including phone number (if available) are shown here.
Call forwarding
Programmable forwarding shortcuts i.e. for different situations a forwarding target can be defined which can be activated with a simple click. HiPath OpenOffice EE is targeted to business users in small enterprises so the default online status is office. Other states are meeting, sick, vacation, gone out, break etc.
Phonebook
Phonebook / directory (contacts can be imported from Outlook or a CSV file) and can be used by scrolling through them and clicking the appropriate one.
Team functions
Team functions can be used to send a message to the phones of multiple selected internal users or forward multiple phones simultaneously. Example: a secretary could use this to forward all calls to all members of a team to the own phone or to voicemail in case of a team meeting. The list of the internal users needs to be imported from a csv file first in order to use these team features.
Programmable function keys
Multiple function keys can be programmed with names and phone numbers (number of such keys seems not be limited).
Call Journal
A journal collects information regarding outgoing and incoming calls (as long as the widget is active). This journal also offers filters for outgoing, incoming, missed calls etc. and a reminder function which lets the user set reminders for each entry.
Link to external phonebooks
A further icon opens a public phonebook in a seperate browser window (url can be defined in the widget settings).
Multi language support
Supported languages are German and English but the widget allows to export all texts, change them and import own text files afterwards, so you could even generate your own personal language.
Easy Installation
During the installation the user is asked to enter the IP address of the server and his own internal phone number - that's all.
